QUALIFICATIONS
Experience/Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of five years’ relative work experience.
- Must be skilled in at least two of the following trades: carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, plastering and other trades as determined by the department head.
- License or Certificate of competency in one of the trades to be supervised.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Valid Construction Supervisor’s License
- Certification as an Asbestos Coordinator or Supervisor within six (6) months of appointment to position.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to operate modern office equipment.
- Familiarity with the rules, regulations, ordinances and laws governing the department served.
- Sound knowledge of the materials, methods, tools and techniques of the building maintenance trades and skill in their use
- Ability to work from plans and specifications, to follow rough sketches and oral instructions, layout work and perform tasks with little technical supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software for project management and administrative tasks
- Ability to carry out routine administrative details independently, make decisions in the absence of the director.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively coordinate with employees, contractors, and city officials.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff, public officials, and external partners.

While performing the duties of the Project Supervisor, the incumbent is required to: interact and communicate frequently with the public, government officials, other staff members and boards, and/or third parties transacting business with the City. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in inclement weather. Incumbent may be required to be available to respond to emergency & be available for snow removal operations.

While performing the duties of the Project Supervisor, the incumbent is required to: interact and communicate frequently with the public, government officials, other staff members and boards, and/or third parties transacting business with the City; operate standard office equipment including computers and keyboards, at efficient speed. This position requires a moderate amount of walking, standing, sitting and climbing stairs. Activities also include moderate physical exertion in body movement such as reaching, bending, twisting, grasping, pushing and pulling of objects. The position requires lifting and moving objects weighting up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis, and over 30 pounds on occasion.
HOURS
40 hours per week
Monday-Friday, 7:00AM – 3:30PM
SALARY
Starting rate $27.03 - $28.54 per hour
Annual increases up to 37.43 per hour
