Ombudsman Program Manager: Elder Services seeks a collaborative, solutions focused program manager to recruit, train and supervise volunteer staff who are responsible for improving the quality of life of nursing home residents while also protecting the rights, benefits and entitlements of those residents.  The program manager will assist volunteers who work with nursing home residents to resolve situations of concern which adversely affect their quality of care, health, finances, welfare and autonomy.  They will also advocate for residents when necessary to ensure their rights are respected. The program manager is also expected to document and provide reports in a timely fashion, publicize the program, attend meetings, and provide community education regarding all aspects of long-term care.  In addition, in-service trainings are provided to the staff of the long term care facilities and Elder Services’ Volunteer Ombudsman program. Bachelor's degree preferred, three years’ experience working with older adults or disabled persons in a community setting and working with volunteers is required.  Experience in long-term care and advocacy on behalf of vulnerable populations preferred. This position works 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, and reports to Elder Services Community Services Director.
