The Pediatric Psychiatric Provider will be consulted by the PCP to render an opinion and provide a brief consultation prior to returning care back to the PCP. The pediatric Psychiatric Provider will conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate results. Our expectation is that this position will see new patient evaluations, and follow ups, that meet budgeted productivity expectations. Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform physical exams and patient observations using a biopsychosocial model.
- Makes recommendations for ongoing psychosocial or medical treatment plans and monitors and evaluates treatment results.
- Evaluates patients by interviewing patient, family, and other persons; conducting mental status examinations; observing behaviors; reviewing medical history and related documents; and sending a request to the PCP if laboratory tests are needed and evaluating results.
- Maintains interdisciplinary approach through consulting and collaborating with primary care physicians, mental health therapists, nurses, and other health care providers.
- Maintains medical records by documenting symptoms, medications, and treatment events and completed notes and billing same day as the visit.
- Detect changes in patients' health and modify treatment plans, as needed.
- Discusses progress towards goals with PCPs and patients.
