Deli Supervisor

 Guido’s is looking to hire a new supervisor in our Great Barrington deli department. If you love helping customers, have great communication skills, and find joy in a perfectly stacked sandwich, we’d love to hear from you.  

Duties and Responsibilities 

  •  Supervises all deli counter and floor staff, delegating as needed, and ensuring coverage in all deli areas.  
  • Completes ongoing training of all deli staff in matters of safely, quality, and customer service.
  • Communicates daily with the deli manager. Contributes to the hiring and review of staff. 
  • Assists with inventory control by working with store buyers to assist in preventing under or over ordering of merchandise or planning for new items.   
  • Plans merchandising according to season, holidays, or specials. 
  • Communicates with the kitchen manager regarding prepared deli items (top/bottom sellers, holiday/weekend volume) to ensure the right product mix is always available.
  • Ensures pricing accuracy, correct product labeling, and appropriate signage. Makes sure that prices, signs, and labels change with new promotions. Checks invoices for price changes and errors.
  • Helps coordinate customer orders for platters, catering, and holidays. Trains staff to fill out order forms. Works with the meat department to order any necessary product.
  • Informs the manager of depleted merchandise before the next order date.   
  • Works to ensure a smooth and timely transition from month to month or as needed for all deli specials – (price changes, displays, signage, etc).
  • Works to maintain the company standards of quality, both of product and customer service. 
  • Performs other related duties as required.


This is a full-time position. 35-40 hours per week. One weekend day is a must. Mix of morning and evening shifts are required.

  • Moderate level English speaking and reading is required, as a candidate must have the ability communicate with customers directly when receiving and preparing Deli orders in person
