Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA is an independent YMCA Camp located on 1500 acres in the beautiful Berkshires of Western MA close to nationally renowned cultural and historic attractions such as Jacob’s Pillow and Tanglewood. Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA operates several programs serving hundreds of campers and staff at a time. Boasting over a century of tradition, our industry leading programs include Camp Becket for boys and Chimney Corners Camp for girls, Travel Service Programs, and Becket Day Camp.

Located on nearly 1400 forested acres in the Town of Becket, nestledwithin the beautiful Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts, the Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA is an independent YMCA camp which operates programs serving hundreds of campers annually.  Boasting over a century of tradition, our industry leading programs include the Chimney Corners Camp for girls, Camp Becket for Boys, the Travel and Service Programs (domestic and international), and Becket Day Camp.

Responsibilities

Our maintenance team works together to perform a wide variety of tasks to maintain our buildings and grounds, including some custodial services.  Work orders and daily schedules will vary with the seasons.  You can generally expect to use light machinery, power and hand tools, and work vehicles. A full 40 hour work week, on-site,  can have some flexibility on schedules from September through May.  During the months of our peak operating season, June through August, schedules will be determined based on the needs of the operations.  Occasional evenings and weekends will be required.  You will participate along with your coworkers on a rotation to be on call for property emergencies, for up to 1 week per month.

  • Candidates who have light carpentry skills and can independently work repairs are preferred
  • Candidates must be able to work both indoors and outdoors
  • Have a current driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Successfully pass background checks
  • Proof of a medical physical and immunizations as required by state regulations
