Community Based Day Direct Care Professional

The Community Based Day Direct Care professional provides support to a member with activities of daily living and life skills with a top priority of socialization and engagement. The UCP staff will help facilitate the Day Program in conjunction with the family, which may include time spent at either UCP center, in the community, at the home or any other location that both the member and family deem appropriate. The staff will explore other areas of importance with the member such as hobbies, activities and other member interests. 

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Life or work experience with individuals with disabilities. Experience, training with Autism is preferred. 
  • Ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills; empathy for others; demonstrated commitment to life without limits; and the ability to work well within a team model and independently.
  • Have certification in Adult CPR/First Aid or ability to be certified
  • Ability to use a computer to enter case notes; communicate by email, etc.
  • Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and availability of a private insured vehicle for work use
  • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate the needs of the member
  • Acceptable CORI, SORI, DPPC and National Fingerprint Check. 
  • A negative Mantoux TB test or a clear chest x-ray
