JOB SUMMARY:  The driver is responsible for transporting vehicles, raw materials, products, and other items to various destinations using either F650 rollback/flatbed or F56 rack truck. He/she is responsible for delivering items from one location to the next while dealing with road and weather conditions. In addition, assist in warehouse management tasks.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Drive company-owned vehicles to transport and deliver materials and chassis' to and from locations.
  • Maintain truck log in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Deliver and pick up materials from vendors.
  • Properly secure tie downs and blocks to secure cargo for transport
  • Clean, inspect and provide light service to the delivery vehicle as needed.
  • Ensure that all equipment is functional, and fluids are at an acceptable level.
  • Report any/all problems or concerns with the vehicle and/or cargo to Warehouse Manager
  • Park new vehicles according to the company approved lot plan.
  • Operate equipment on the vehicle to load, unload or disperse cargo and materials in a timely manner.
  • Obtain proper vendor signatures for all delivered and received goods.
  • Assist in the manual loading and unloading of cargo and materials.
  • Record all hours worked accurately.

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Receiving shipments and supplies
  • Taking part in inventories and updating records
  • Adhere to and carry out existing work practices, procedures, and policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate.
  • Understand and comply with safety and environmental policies.
  • Other duties as assigned by Warehouse Manager.

INTERACTION WITH:

  • All Internal departments as needed.
  • Vendor interaction

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience driving an F56 rack truck and F650 rollback/flatbed and loading cargo
  • Fork truck and pallet jack experience.

Working knowledge of Verizon Connect Reveal system.

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Clean driving record
  • Fork truck certification

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work independently with problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent listening skills and ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to maintain focus and meet deadlines.
  • Basic math skills required (add, subtract, Divide and multiply)
  • Must be able to write legibly with attention to detail.
  • Reading abilities required (including a map if necessary)
  • Ability to follow safety and material policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Basic computer skills working in a team environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to pass physical exam.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 70 lbs.
  • Ability to exert maximum force to pull and carry objects.
  • Must be able to climb into and onto vehicle.
  • Extended sitting.
  • Standing, bending, squatting, and lifting
  • Vision a minimum 20/40 with or without corrective lenses
  • Good hearing
  • Quick hand, finger and foot reflexes to safely manage and react to driving conditions and requirements.
