Purchasing Coordinator

Pay: $21-30/hour (depending on experience)

Hours: Mon – Fri, 40 hours/week
TEC is assisting a local manufacturing company recruit for a Purchasing Coordinator. This individual must be detail-oriented and proactive in the purchasing process. This person must be math-minded and be excellent in Excel. Having a critical role in the procurement process, this employee will ensure that inventory levels are maintained, foster strong relationships with suppliers and have a strong foundation in supply chain management, sourcing strategies and contract management.
Job Responsibilities:
- Procure goods and services in alignment with company needs and budgetary constraints
- Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supply while minimizing excess stock
- Oversee the sourcing process to identify and evaluate potential suppliers
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and delivery schedules
- Collaborate with logistics team to coordinate the timely delivery of products
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory, and supplier information within procurement systems
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to inform purchasing decisions
- Assist in developing procurement strategies that align with overall business objectives
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to purchasing.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, or related field
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and practices
- Familiarity with sourcing techniques and supplier management processes
- Excellent negotiation skills with a focus on contact management
- Proficient in using procurement systems and software for tracking purchases and inventory
- Strong analytical skills to assess market trends and supplier performance effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities
- Excellent communication skills
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or a related field is highly preferred.
