The Biology Department at Williams College, a premier liberal arts college with a strong commitment to excellence in the sciences, invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor to begin September 2025. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and strongly encourage individuals whose experiences and perspectives will enhance our commitment to academic excellence and innovation to apply.

We seek an ecologist with expertise in fields including (but not limited to) conservation, behavioral, evolutionary, community, or population ecology. The successful candidate will teach Conservation Biology with two lab sections in the fall semester and either Animal Behavior with two lab sections or an upper level course in their discipline in the spring semester. There is also the opportunity to mentor undergraduate research projects and to hire undergraduate research assistants during the academic year.



Qualifications
Candidates who can involve talented undergraduates in a dynamic research program will be considered favorably. Some internal funding for research with students is available. A Ph.D. is required; postdoctoral experience and a strong research record are preferred. For more information on the Department of Biology, visit https://biology.williams.edu/.
