Letters of application are being accepted for the position of CTE instructor. All applicants must be licensed or licensable by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) as a vocational office technology teacher (9-12) or academic business teacher (9-12). Teacher license standards are available on the DESE website www.doe.mass.edu. Applicants should be familiar with the SkillsUSA standards (www.skillsusa.org). Applicants must be able to teach all aspects of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary/Career Vocational Technical Education, CVTE, www.doe.edu/cte standardized vocational/technical curriculum frameworks strands 1 4, 5, and 6 and have the ability to work with young adults. Applicants are responsible for ensuring assessment data is analyzed and used to evaluate and improve curriculum and instruction. The ability to adapt and implement change is crucial.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of instructional techniques and individual learning styles.
- Knowledge of technology assisted teaching techniques and internet-based research.
- Knowledge of the Massachusetts Curriculum CVTE Frameworks for strands 1, 4, 5 & 6.
- Knowledge of formal and informal student assessment techniques.
- Knowledge of the SkillsUSA curriculum.
- Knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
- Knowledge of the Massachusetts Model System for Educator Evaluation.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement standards-based curriculum for all aspects of CVTE strands 1, 4, 5 & 6.
- Ensure data is used to improve curriculum and instruction.
- Implement career and transitions readiness courses.
- Implement SkillsUSA curriculum.
- Create a safe classroom environment conducive to student learning.
- Assume the obligations ordinarily associated with the teaching profession.
- Ability to transport students in school vehicle(s).
