QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in social work, sociology, counseling, early education or a related field preferred.
- A minimum of at least one year of relevant experience working with high-risk, case management services or early childhood education experience. Knowledge of local parent and child community resources is highly desirable.
- Understanding of early childhood development is highly desirable.
- Ability to deal tactfully, respectfully and maintain a working professional relationship with parents, CCB staff, and other professional and non- professional members in the community.
- Ability to work as a member of a diverse team of professionals.
- Must be sensitive to the needs of parents and the stressors in their lives and to interact in a positive, respectful way with many different parents, children and community members.
- Positive attitude, understanding, and commitment toward Strengthening Families philosophy, family engagement and family support.
- Working knowledge and ability to use standard office equipment, such as the telephone, copier, fax, calculator, as well as computers, email and software, including Excel, Word, and Google Workspace.
- Competency in mathematics, ability to compute accurately.
- Must demonstrate high quality, friendly, professional customer service.
- Ability to communicate clearly and pleasantly in person and on the telephone; competency in spelling and grammar.
- Ability to take direction, to prioritize tasks, complete tasks, adhering to deadlines.
- First Aid and CPR required.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality while supporting the overall mission, values, and goals of Child Care of the Berkshires.
- Must be willing to complete a background record check.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Duties performed on-site at the offices as well as in the classrooms. Employees work under typical office conditions, at a desk where the noise level is usually quiet and in classrooms where the atmosphere is active and loud.
This position also requires the following:
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, and stoop.
- Ability to communicate clearly and vocally in order to express and exchange information by spoken word. In addition, willingness to use translation and other tools to communicate effectively with the children and families we support.
- Must be able to provide documentation of good physical health and mental health, freedom from communicable diseases.
- Must be able to lift and carry children weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to travel to and from centers.
WORK SCHEDULE AND YEAR: This is a 20 hour per week, year-round position. This position may evolve into a 40 hour per week position. Some meetings/events will be required, outside of traditional working hours.
SALARY RANGE: $19 per hour. Benefits include vision and dental insurance, sick and vacation time as well as paid holidays, paid closure days, and retirement plan.
