The Mobile Health Unit (MHU) Driver inspects and drives the CHP Mobile Health Units to various scheduled locations throughout Berkshire County. The MHU Driver helps set up the clinics and provides check-in services to patients. This person will support CHP’s mission, vision, and values and will adhere to compliance protocols as well as CHP’s policies and procedures.

Mobile Health Unit Driver Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Using a written checklist, conducts pre- and post-trip inspections of the MHU’s
  • Operates the MHU on schedule and on the designated routes, complying with all traffic regulations to ensure that passengers have a safe and smooth ride. Determines and follows safe and efficient routes.
  • Parks in designated spots at designated destinations, securing the MHU as required.
  • Assists passengers, such as elderly or disabled individuals, on and off MHU as needed
  • Maintains records of patient transports, mileage, and gas receipts to and from each destination
  • Keeps the inside of the MHU clean removing trash after each trip and regulates heating/cooling and lighting for patient and passenger comfort.
  • Takes MHU’s and the company's other vehicles to the car wash as deemed necessary
  • Reports any MHU maintenance issues to the MHU manager.
  • Assists with the loading and unloading of equipment and supplies daily before and after MHU clinics.
  • Assists with patient check in at clinics and provides a variety of clerical duties.
