Counselor - Emergency Services Provider

Part-Time available! Mon - 8 AM to 330 PM and Sun - 8 AM to 8 PM!

This position is responsible for providing support to patients via phone and in person, assisting ESP Clinicians, managing incoming calls and providing additional support to the Acute Care Services staff.

Essential Job Functions

  • Triage incoming calls.
  • Dispatch clinicians as needed.
  • Schedule crisis/urgent care appointments.
  • Obtain Section 12’s as needed.
  • Provide support via phone and in person to individuals in crisis
  • Accompany ESP Clinicians during assessments of individuals in crisis
  • Assist ESP Clinicians with making referrals
  • Assist in executing dispositions determined by the ESP Clinician
  • Perform bed searches
  • Verify insurance
  • Complete all necessary documentation (i.e. PIF, Alert Follow up Form, etc.)
  • Conduct follow up appointments as assigned by Program Director

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
  • Proficient computer and data entry skills
  • Ability to interact well with the public and work with a wide variety of people
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to work and prioritize tasks appropriately and work well independently
  • Ability to answer phones professionally and manage multiple phone lines
  • Ability to conduct and present themselves professionally
  • High regard for professionalism and confidentiality
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and appropriately insured vehicle strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in field required
  • Knowledge in mental health and community systems
