RESPONSIBILITES

  • Provides supervision of the daily operations on the assigned units.
  • Acts on behalf of the organization, providing supervision for staff members.
  • Participates in the hiring process and disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and assures compliance with accrediting/regulatory agency standards, hospital and departmental policies and procedures and customer service standards.
  • Experience:
    • Three years of unit specific experience required.
    • Teaching experience preferred.
    • Leadership experience required.
    • Experience with electronic medical record and clinical documentation systems required.
  • Education and Training:
    • RN required.
    • BSN required, MSN preferred.
    • Knowledge of software applications (Outlook, Microsoft) required.
  • License, Certification & Registration:
    • RN License - Currently licensed as an RN in Massachusetts.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Maintain professionalism and act as role model.
    • Demonstrates leadership and communicates a strong work ethic and commitment toward service excellence.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills; communicates effectively with patients, family members, physicians, senior leadership and staff.
    • Well organized and able to prioritize a variety of complex assignments simultaneously. Meets deadlines in a timely manner.
    • Demonstrates understanding of local, state and federal regulating agencies (DCF, DPH, TJC).
    • Demonstrates dependability and transparency.
    • Documented effectiveness in confronting problems and resolving conflict.
  • Other Addendum(s) Requirements:
    • A national certification preferred.
