Description:
DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION


Operate the BMC Plant Operations Department. Supervise and participate in the operation, maintenance and repair of the main steam plant; including boilers, chillers, generators, HVAC control monitoring system and other related equipment. Schedule staff for 24/7 operation of department; Ensure appropriate record keeping of time and attendance of department staff; Maintain appropriate documentation of testing and PM schedules per JCAHO requirements of all equipment.



•POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)

A.Experience:

3-5 years in steam\ power plant engineering field with minimum 3 years experience as operating engineer.



B.Education and Training:

Must have logged hours as 2nd and 1st class firemen or 3rd class engineer; Technical school training or equivalent in power plant engineering;



C.License, Certification & Registration:

License required second class engineer, State of Massachusetts.



D.Other Requirements:

Must have working knowledge of state and federal EPA and DEP requirements as it pertains to emissions and regulatory requirements. Preferred experience in pipe-fitting, electrical components, water chemistry and metallurgy.
Knowledge of Microsoft office applications, building HVAC automation applications & current valid drivers license.
