Store Clerk

Job Description

Our Store Clerks are truly the lifeblood of The Country Store at Jiminy Peak. They are the first people to interact with guests as they enter the store and are generally responsible for assisting them throughout their buying process. They provide an exceptional hospitality experience for all of our customers.

Responsibilities

Working under the supervision of the General Manager, our Store Clerks are responsible for:

• Greeting customers and making them feel welcomed when they enter the store
• Offering assistance to guests and responding to questions about products and the local area
• Operating the cash register,handling cash payments and credit card processing
• Answering the phone, taking and fulfilling incoming orders
• Working with the kitchen staff to fulfill breakfast orders and our store made grab n’ go food options (mornings)
• Preparing light breakfast options and making deli sandwiches (all day)
• Receiving and stocking incoming goods and products
• Slicing meats, cheeses and prepping vegetables to restock the bakery and deli counter
• Cleaning and maintaining the general appearance of the store and stock rooms
• Assisting with the overall sanitation of the sandwich station, equipment, and food storage areas according to ServSafe and Massachusetts Food Code standards.
• Following opening/daytime/closing protocols
• Store Clerks may have the ability to be cross-trained in other roles, including Post Office Assistants and Kitchen Staff, to share shifts as needed

• Ability to take direction and feedback from managers 
• Ability to make quick decisions and adapt to changing environments 
• Customer service, hospitality, and/or food service experience is a plus
• Knowledge of food sanitation regulations is a plus
• Understanding and appreciation of tourism in Berkshire County is a plus 

Requirements

• Must be 18 or over
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule
• Must be able to occasionally lift heavy objects and walk up and down stairs
• Must be able to verbally communicate with customers, managers and team members in a professional manner 
• We strongly encourage employees to be up to date with their COVID-19 vaccinations.

Compensation and Benefits

• This position is paid hourly, competitive wages. based on candidate's experience
• This position participates in tip sharing with fellow Store Clerks.
• We provide paid sick time off. After 30 days of employment, all staff members acquire 1 hour paid per 30 hours worked with a yearly cap of 40 hours.
• Full time positions also include a season ski lift pass for you and one immediate family member at the Jiminy Peak Resort. The number of passes available to you increases after every additional season working at the store.
