As a technical writer at GDMS you will be working in a team environment to create and validate XML based documentation products for sailors to operate and maintain a complex submarine-based weapon system.
The ideal candidate has experience XML based authoring standards such as S1000D and familiarity with complex US Navy strategic deterrent weapon control systems, however, we are willing to train the right candidate.
What sets you apart:
- A clear interest in and understanding of the XML documentation development lifecycle for US military applications, including DTD, style sheets, and schema.
- A hunger to learn new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexity.
- Experience interfacing with the Strategic Systems and/or Sea Systems Command government/contractor community.

Bachelor’s degree in a related specialized area or field, or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
