As an Advanced Mechanical Engineer, you’ll design and develop in such areas as mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, thermodynamic, or heat transfer for production, transmission, measurement, and use of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines and/or machines. What you’ll experience: Technologies that aren’t just top-notch, they’re often top-secret A team of bold thinkers committed to exploring what’s next Opportunities to gain new knowledge - as it’s discovered What you bring to the table: A Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, a related specialized area or field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience Fully capable with solid modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings Fully proficient with cabling tools (MEntor /Capital Harness experience preferred) to create cable harness and stand-alone cable drawings Fully proficient with technical standards, manufacturing/fabrication methods, and government/industry standards Gather all wire and cable construction, routing, and COORD requirements at a programmatic level Define processes for design tools and design best practices to implement cabling designs Define material and deliverables for the entire cable plant on a program Prepare design review material to be presented both internally and externally (to the customer) Interface directly with other subcontractors on the program to support proving inputs and review comments to shared interfaces and data Provide support to the Manufacturing organization during the build cycle Provide support to the Field Engineering organization during the installation cycle What sets you apart: Creative thinking with the ability to multi-task Ability to quickly grasp and apply new information Effectively handle and lead complex assignments Ability to write technical papers and proposals | |
Requirements: | |
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. |
