We are currently seeking a qualified and motivated Heavy Highway Estimator to join our professional team. This is a full-time, in-office role based in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
The Heavy Highway Estimator will be responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for heavy highway construction projects. This includes analyzing project plans and specifications, performing quantity take-offs, preparing detailed proposals, and maintaining subcontractor and vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of working collaboratively within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Prepare detailed project bid estimates, including quantity take-offs, pricing, and proposal documentation
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate pricing with vendors and subcontractors
- Collaborate effectively with field personnel and project managers to support project planning and estimating
- Contribute to a team-oriented work environment
