The Membership and Donor Stewardship Manager is responsible for advancing the MASS MoCA membership program and ensuring the stewardship of MASS MoCA’s constituencies. As Membership Manager (70% of role), this position will generate important operations revenue by maintaining strong member relations and maintaining and growing membership through outreach and events. This individual will utilize the Tessitura database to organize communications, process memberships, and analyze and identify trends to better serve members. This position will work in collaboration with colleagues across the institution to develop and execute innovative opportunities to engage members through events and programs and broaden the membership base. As Donor Stewardship Manager (30% of role), this position will work with the Development Operations Manager to maintain a practice of timely and thoughtful acknowledgements of annual fund gifts to the institution, working in partnership with colleagues across the institution to develop and execute engaging stewardship plans for key donors and developing acknowledgement protocols to connect with and thank donors at all levels. This position will contribute to creating an energetic and enthusiastic culture of philanthropy. The position reports to the Director of Development and works closely with the Development Operations Manager and participates as an active member of a highly effective fundraising department, including foundation and corporate support, annual fund, and special events. Working directly with the Director of Development, this position will be the primary point of contact for members. The Membership and Development Coordinator will be required to resolve customer service issues, communicate with members and donors in person, by phone, and by email, organize membership renewals and events, and assist with other fundraising campaigns as needed. Key Responsibilities: -Manage membership program (approx. 8,500 members) -Serve as a key point of contact for member inquiries -Communicate membership information in person or via electronic, telephone, mail, or written correspondence to members and prospective members -Develop content for communications with MASS MoCA members -Resolve customer service issues -Maintain database and work with box office and other development staff to ensure member information is complete, correct, and up to date -Strategize new ways to grow revenue -Organize and send membership renewals on a monthly basis -Issue all membership cards and welcome letters to members -Maintain digital filing system -Develop and manage member events -Collaborate with other departments to create strategies for developing donor relations/stewardship standards across the institution -Ensure that the gift acknowledgement processes remain relevant and are fulfilled in a timely manner -Address donor questions and concerns related to gift acknowledgments -Assist with other museum events as needed Key attributes: -A service-oriented person who sees the value in strengthening the connections between the public and the museum -Great customer service and interpersonal skills -Excellent written and verbal skills -Good at understanding systems and adept at learning new technologies. -Tessitura and Excel experience is a plus -Highly organized and meticulous, staying on top of key membership deadlines -Motivated to grow and learn new skills, long-term interest in fundraising preferred -Ability to work independently and solve problems -An effective collaborator who is good at working with others to get projects done | |
