Perform all required work related to the operation and maintenance of all Town roads, storm drains, plowing, sanding snow removal, earth work, tree work, traffic control and all other work associated as required.
Work under the general supervision of the Public Works Superintendent, Foreman or assigned supervisor.
Perform work functions as assigned daily, but requiring independent judgement in determining appropriate and safe methods.
To faithfully wear and use all allocated safety equipment and clothing, be vigilant about safety of self, colleagues and the public.
Work requires being outside in all types of weather conditions.
Operate trucks, snow plows, sanders, backhoes, front end loaders, excavators, power tools, hand tools, chain saws, mowers, trimmers, shovels, rakes and brooms. etc.
Have occasional contact with the general public requiring tact and sensitivity. Able to follow instruction and cooperate with colleagues.

Assist in the overall maintenance and improvement of town-owned property and equipment. Capable of operating large trucks and earth moving equipment. Available after normal business hours for snow plowing and removal or any other type of work needing immediate response.
Responsible for the care and maintenance of all tools and equipment. Performs similar or related work as required or as situation dictates.
Recommended Minimum Qualifications:
Education and experience
Graduation from high school or trade school and one to three years of experience relating to road maintenance, construction, or equivalent combinations of education and experience.

Applicant must possess a Class B Commercial driver's license. Class A preferred.
Within 6 months of hire date applicant must obtain a class 2A Hoisting Engineers License. Within 12 months of hire date applicant must obtain a class 4G Hoisting Engineers License.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to lift heavy objects, handle and operate tools and controls, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
