JOB SUMMARY: The Production Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the production floor. The position coordinates daily production activities, monitors workflow, manages production schedules, and ensures that manufacturing targets and deadlines are met while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Production Oversight & Coordination
- Coordinate and oversee daily production activities to ensure timely completion of work orders and adherence to established schedules.
- Manage work order progress for parts shipments, ensuring schedules are maintained and production flow is supported throughout the facility.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production delays or disruptions; proactively address bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Collaborate with the Facilities Department on equipment preventative maintenance to minimize production downtime.
- Lead onboarding and orientation for new production team members in coordination with Engineering and departmental leads.
Communication & Collaboration
- Serve as a key point of communication between the Production Manager, Scheduling Manager, Warehouse, and Quality Control.
- Work closely with the Stockroom to manage inventory storage requirements, department-level inventory needs, shipment parts, and min/max level guidelines.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor raw material and component availability, escalating shortages or delays as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date production records, including output, cycle times, downtime, material usage, and labor hours.
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to improvement initiatives by providing feedback on production processes, procedures, jigs/fixtures, and QA/QC enhancements.

- Exercise discretion and individual judgement with respect to Company matters

EXPERIENCE:
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or operations environment.
- Experience with production scheduling, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in autobody or automotive electrical work is a plus
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent

- Ability to interact with all levels of staff within all departments
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
- Ability to read & understand wiring schematics and blueprints
- Follow safety policies and procedures
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to pass a physical exam
- Ability to lift a minimum of 70 lbs.
- Ability to exert maximum force to pull and carry objects
- Must be able to climb into, onto, and under vehicles.
- Extended periods of sitting, standing, bending, squatting, and kneeling
- Vision of minimum 20/40 with or without corrective lenses
- Good hearing
