Job Description: The Department of Health Professions invites applications for nursing adjunct faculty pool. These are semester-to-semester positions (Fall and Spring), beginning Fall 2025. Candidates must have a minimum degree of Bachelor's in Nursing (matriculated into an MSN program), but a Masters in Nursing or Doctorate in Nursing is preferred.
The adjunct nursing faculty pool positions will teach didactic (lecture), laboratory or clinical nursing content in MCLA's new Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. MCLA seeks a faculty committed to high quality teaching, undergraduate mentoring and who will make contributions to MCLA's ongoing commitment to bring diversity, equity, and inclusion to the curriculum.
Faculty are expected to maintain current knowledge of the discipline and educational methodologies by maintaining an active, unencumbered Massachusetts Registered Nurse License, and by participating in continuing education programs and professional growth activities. Furthermore, these individuals will be expected to maintain current knowledge of program policies, procedures, and student progress, and maintain confidentiality in accordance with program policy. Faculty may be requested to perform other tasks or duties to support the program. The Nursing program is housed in a newly renovated wing of the Berkshire Medical Center North Adams Campus and has a new, fully equipped simulation lab.
Job Requirements:- Minimum of a Bachelor's in Nursing (matriculated into an MSN program with a graduation date within 5 years of appointment). Master's degree in Nursing or Doctorate in Nursing or related field is preferred.
- A current, unencumbered Massachusetts Registered Nurse license in good standing.
- A minimum of 2 years clinical experience or its equivalent in the last 5 years.
- Special expertise in mental health, pediatrics, maternal-child health, acute care and/or long-term care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in baccalaureate education.
- Demonstrated teaching ability at the undergraduate level.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive pedagogies and classroom practices.
Additional Information:This is a part-time position in the MSCA Union. Salary is $1,200 - $2,270 per credit.
