Ombudsman Program Supervisor:  

The Ombudsman Program Supervisor oversees the Berkshire County Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program. This role is responsible for managing volunteers who advocate for the people living in nursing facilities in Berkshire County. The supervisor handles the day-to-day operations of the program to make sure it runs smoothly, follows all required standards, and effectively supports residents. Key duties include recruiting, training, supervising, and supporting volunteer Ombudsmen, as well as helping them continue to grow in their roles. This position also involves outreach in the community to raise awareness about long-term care issues and ensure that any concerns are reported promptly to the Executive Office of Aging & Independence in line with program requirements. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in human services or related field preferred. At least three years’ experience working with older adults or people with disabilities in a community setting Experience working with and supervising volunteers. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel are required.

  • Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
  • Leadership ability; independent thinker; self-starter.
  • Ability to assess and judge situations of concern in an impartial manner.
  • Excellent clinical, social work, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams while maintaining professionalism at all times.
