Berkshire Community College is searching for adjunct faculty to teach in clinical during the day, or evening in the Division of Nursing.

Position Overview: Supervision and evaluation of students in a team-taught, nursing program in the acute and subacute clinical settings (day, weekend, and/or evening assignments) each semester. Participate in the systematic evaluation of all components of the program. Use technology effectively to communicate with students and colleagues. Maintain competence through academic and professional credentials, continuing education, and professional growth.

Additional Information:

  • Pay: $62.09 per hour to $75.02 per hour, based on DCE step, per the DCE Contract, (non-benefited)

Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing; For Practical Nurse faculty, a baccalaureate degree in nursing is required and a graduate degree is preferred. Must have 2 years of full-time experience, or its equivalent within the last 5 years.  For the Associates Degree in Nursing Program, a graduate degree in nursing is required or applicant may be matriculating in a graduate program with an expected graduation date within five years of appointment. ADN applicants must possess a minimum of five years full-time nursing experience, or its equivalent, within the last 8 years. All faculty must maintain expertise appropriate to responsibilities; evidence of clinical competence in area of clinical instruction; commitment to support student centered, outcomes-based education.  Must also possess the ability to incorporate multiple instructional strategies, including simulation, and integrate computer technology common in nursing practice and education. Applicant must be able to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.  Background appropriate to teach Fundamentals of Nursing, Acute Medical/Surgical Nursing, and Gerontological Nursing.  Demonstrated excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
