A Cook's position, 40 hours per week, 12-month, year-round, reporting to the Senior Operations Manager for Mission Park Production is available at Mission Dining. The initial schedule will be Sunday 10:30a - 7:00 pm, Monday through Thursday 12:00 - 8:30 pm, with Friday and Saturday off. Schedules are subject to change based on the needs of the department.
Working under the daily supervision of the First and Second Cook, will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, safe food preparation/handling and service. Your primary focus is the creating, preparing and serving of food of the highest quality. Follow pre-established menus and recipes, ensure accuracy in food allergens, food quality, preparation, temperatures, tastes, appearance and garnishing, as well as overall sanitation of kitchen, equipment, and storage areas. Ensure allergen labels are accurate and accessible.
Your work schedule may vary to include evenings, weekends and holidays as required. You will thrive if you are enthusiastic, energetic and possess strong customer service skills, along with the knowledge and ability to work in a kitchen environment. Your ability to relate to diverse customers and staff in a professional manner is essential.
The position requires the use of basic math skills, scheduling flexibility, standing for long periods of time and lifting objects up to 40 pounds. At least 2 years relevant kitchen experience required, and general knowledge of food service is preferred.
