DescriptionThe Department of History at Williams College invites applications for a two-year visiting appointment in the history of late-medieval/early modern Western Europe, Byzantium, or the Islamic world, to start July 1, 2025. We aim to appoint a Visiting Assistant Professor who will be responsible for teaching the history of Western Europe, Byzantium, or the Islamic world between roughly 1000-1700.
The teaching load in the department will be two courses per semester, and faculty have considerable autonomy in developing the curriculum in their fields. The successful candidate will also be expected to supervise students in the History Department's honors thesis program. Information about the department and current curriculum can be found at:
