The Williams College Facilities Department is pleased to announce an immediate opportunity for a Project Manager role. We're looking for a Project Manager to be responsible for managing a multitude of small to large and complex renovation projects on the College campus, including all phases - from planning and programming through closeout. Project sizes may vary from $10,000 to $1 million. The Project Manager position works closely with Facilities Operations and Planning Design & Construction to help ensure common goals of the college are achieved. This position may also participate in planning and programming studies in collaboration with other colleagues in Facilities. As the Project Manager in Facilities you will support the efforts of all your team members and strive to provide excellent service to faculty, staff, and students.

Facilities supports, manages and maintains approximately 200 buildings including housing units as well as commercial properties on 450 acres of gardens, lawns and athletic fields. Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Facilities Management Team and other key operations stakeholders in an effort to ensure that long term maintenance, operational and safety requirements are an integral part of every project.
  • Oversee the selection and design work of architects, engineers, and other consultants to ensure appropriate coordination and completion of the design process.
  • Administer the bidding process and prepare and execute contracts with contractors and consultants.
  • Manage and oversee the work of construction contractors during preconstruction and construction phases, resolving issues that arise during the course of design and construction activities.
  • Collaborate and communicate proactively with a broad range of campus stakeholders to inform, track and complete project and program level tasks and design. Able to work with diverse views and communication styles.
  • Direct Construction Managers/General Contractors and perform contract administration, CPM scheduling, cost control, earned value management, and course correction when needed.
  • Regularly track, review and report on design and construction schedule and associated costs to assist in successful completion of project within time and funds allocated.
  • Inspect materials and workmanship used in projects to ensure compliance with contract documents and college design standards.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, plus at least a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in project management required, or equivalent combination of education and experience in project management.
  • Demonstrable Project Management, Construction Supervision, Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) and/or Design experience.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and operation of building systems, building construction codes, safety regulations and construction standards.
  • Massachusetts Construction Supervisor's License or Equivalent is required.
  • A valid driver's license.



Application review will begin on October 1, 2024, and will continue until the position is filled. Pay range is from $85,000-$97,000, commensurate with experience.
