Deadline: DescriptionThe Williams College Department of Physics invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, with teaching duties starting September 2024. A more senior appointment may be possible in exceptional circumstances. We seek a theoretical or computational physicist eager to teach throughout the undergraduate physics curriculum and to involve undergraduates in research. Startup funds will be available.
Our department has nine full-time members and graduates approximately twenty majors annually, the majority of whom pursue advanced study or careers in physics or a related field. Current research areas include experimental atomic physics, particle physics, and hard and soft condensed matter; theoretical biophysics, particle physics, and quantum information; and observational astronomy. QualificationsA PhD (or ABD) in Physics or a closely related field is required. Postdoctoral experience is desirable.
