MountainOne is seeking a Vice President, Community Engagement Officer, to join our amazing team of Mountaineers, and to be the face of our organization in the communities we serve.

The VP, Community Engagement Officer plays a significant role in the strategy and execution of MountainOne’s Community Engagement program, which is a major component of the institution’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) program. This individual represents us and leads the good work we do in our communities in both the Berkshires and on the South Shore of Massachusetts; collaborates with employees at all levels of the organization to foster a culture of community engagement and volunteerism; maintains strong community relationships and connections; and understands the diverse needs and priorities of each of our communities.  As a member of the Marketing team, the Community Engagement Officer also plays a significant role in corporate communications, employee engagement, brand management and event planning.

Job Summary

Develop and manage MountainOne’s Community Engagement programs and initiatives, including CRA-eligible community allocations, our corporate sponsorship program, charitable and sponsorship events, financial education, and other Community Engagement initiatives. Represent MountainOne in the community and maintain strategic relationships with community/nonprofit partners. Manage Mountaineer engagement through volunteerism and nonprofit event representation, brand ambassadorship, Mountaineer Gear (apparel) program, and other internal initiatives. Manage internal and external communications around all Community Engagement efforts. Support MountainOne’s CRA Program as appropriate.

To be successful in each of these priorities, the Community Engagement Officer should:

  • Be a resident of Berkshire County, and engaged in your community.
  • Understand the needs of the Berkshires community, and develop that same understanding of the South Shore community.
  • Be comfortable working with colleagues at all levels of the organization; with nonprofit and community leaders; able to speak to small and large audiences.
  • Be outgoing and passionate.
  • Excel at follow through; able to set and meet deadlines; self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Be extremely hands on and willing to jump in to get the job done.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, attention to accuracy, ability to work under pressure.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
  • 5 years’ banking, community development or nonprofit experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Maintain compliance with all related bank policies, Bank Secrecy Act, confidentiality, standardized procedures, and regulations.
  • Ability to deal and use discretion with confidential matters.
  • 50% availability to travel outside of 25-mile radius (Berkshire County and South Shore, MA).
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs, sit, drive, perform telephone functions and computer input.
