The Customer Service Representative is the primary contact for clients and responsible for providing effective customer service for personal lines customers by using excellent in-depth knowledge of the company’s insurance products.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Properly respond to all customer requests in a professional and courteous manner and on a timely basis.
  • Initiate endorsements and other policy changes for customers.
  • Process and transmit (via fax, email, or mail) necessary information to clients and brokers such as DEC pages, applications, quotes, etc.
  • Assist applicants and brokers with completion of the application and required forms.
  • Assist underwriting team to obtain information from clients and broker.
  • Escalate customer service issues to management as needed.
  • Assist with special projects.
  • Provide assistance to clients to answer question and resolve issues, including billing questions and policy changes.
  • Actively look to round out accounts by referring other value-added services.
  • Review and re-write current accounts to carriers that will better fit the client’s needs.
  • Maintain client information and files, including communication and activities in the agency management system.
  • Keep abreast of changes in carrier plans and policies.
  • Continue education as needed.
  • Build relationships with clients, carriers, and agents.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or recognized equivalent is required.
  • Property & Casualty Producer’s License preferred not required.

Computer Skills:

  • Basic PC skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Other Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Must possess excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
