Seeking a Behavior Techncian at Drury High School for the upcoming school year. This position is for the school year only. It is for 7 hours per day for 5 days per week.
Job Goal: To provide the best educational experience for the schools’ students.
Supervision: Reports to Building Principal and Director of Student Support Services.
Performance Responsibilities:
The Behavior Technician functions as a member of the school team and provides direct supervision and training to students as assigned by the building principal and under the supervision of the districts BCBA/BCaBA consultant.
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to provide a highly structured approach to behavioral management
- Work with students to reduce behaviors such as aggression, self-injury, property destruction, disruption
- Use strategies provided by the BCBA (ie discrete trial training) to instruct students in accordance with Individualized Education Programs
- Provide mentoring and direct support to students during specified un-structured times of the day (lunch, recess, etc)
- Collect data on behavioral interventions and assist in monitoring progress
- With teachers and other support staff, implement elements of student behavior intervention plans under the supervision of the BCBA and Special Education Coordinator
- Participate in meetings (IEP, Behavior Plan, etc.) as necessary.
