Employment Manager

Williams College is seeking a talented and experienced Employment Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in our recruitment and outreach efforts. Reporting to the Director for Employee Engagement & Experience, the successful candidate will join a team of four who are responsible for staff recruitment and onboarding, student employment, organizational design, learning and development, and employee relations and engagement. The Employment Manager will oversee and coordinate human resources functions with a particular focus on recruitment and outreach. This role is integral to developing and implementing strategies to attract top talent and ensure our hiring processes are equitable, efficient, and effective.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Advising hiring managers regarding effective recruitment strategies.
  • Planning and implementing sourcing strategies, including consulting with agencies as needed.
  • Collaborating with HR Business Partners and Compensation to ensure competitive salary ranges and provide insights on current market trends.
  • Facilitating job postings and serving as a resource to hiring managers regarding recruitment guidelines, interview procedures, and inclusiveness guidelines.
  • Providing interview training and developing tools to guide managers through the hiring and selection process.
  • Monitoring applicant pools, making recommendations, and seeking feedback from managers throughout the process.
  • Analyzing recruitment and employment data to ensure no adverse impact on applicants.
  • Conducting interviews individually or with search committees, communicating detailed benefit information, and discussing salary expectations.
  • Responding to applicants' inquiries both orally and in writing.
  • Making compensation offer recommendations in consultation with the Director, extending and negotiating offers.
  • Representing the college at local and regional job fairs.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • A minimum of 2 years proven experience in recruitment required.
  • Strong understanding of HR practices, employment laws, and market trends required.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse groups of people required.
  • Must be technically oriented and familiar with applicant tracking systems. (Workday and Google Suite preferred.)


Application review will begin on July 9, 2024, and will continue until position is filled. Pay range 65,000-75,000, commensurate with experience.
