Escrow & Insurance Specialist

Position Description:

The Escrow & Insurance Specialist is responsible for the efficient and timely processing of all transactions related to commercial and residential loan tax and insurance payments, tax and insurance tracking and account escrows. The Specialist will be the primary contact with critical vendors and will be instrumental in evaluating their performance.  This position also lends secondary support to the Loan Operations team. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

Some of the primary responsibilities of the Escrow & Insurance Specialist include but are not limited to:


  • Daily activity related to processing escrow, insurance and tax transactions. Assist customers with questions; research and resolve issues. 
  • Conduct annual escrow analysis. Ensure accurate data is obtained.  Work with customers on issues or questions. Establish new escrow accounts. 
  • Work with insurance agents and taxing authorities, as needed.  Respond to incoming communication from vendors.  Utilize other vendors and platforms as required to maintain accounts. 
  • Oversee reporting, reconcile exception reports to accurately track insurance coverage.  Monitor force placed insurance processes for billing and customer notifications, while ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Ensure escrowed tax payments are made in a timely manner. Work with vendor to monitor all delinquent tax obligations and communicate internally and externally, as needed, for remediation.
  • Oversee all Flood Certificate monitoring and cancellation procedures. Maintain accurate databases.
  • Monitor and process PMI cancellations. Ensure timely PMI payments to insurance companies. Ensure compliance with PMI regulations.
  • Participate in general Loan Operations servicing by answering incoming customer/departmental phone calls and e-mail requests. Provide backup support for various functions within Loan Operations. Participate in audits.
  • Follow procedures to ensure work is accurate and processes are performed consistently and timely. Assist in creating, modifying and reviewing escrow, tax and insurance procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with all related bank policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Loan Operations or related experience preferred.
  • Ability to work with customers by phone and via written communication.
  • Comfortable multi-tasking.
  • Proven interpersonal, verbal and written communication, organizational and computer skills.
  • Accurate, deadline and detail oriented.
  • Ability to deal with and show discretion in confidential matters.
  • 5% availability to travel outside of 25-mile radius.
  • Ability to sit, drive, bend, answer the phone and perform computer input.
