Job summary:

This position is responsible for new personal insurance account solicitation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Solicitation of new personal insurance accounts. This includes gathering information from prospective clients for quoting, as well as interacting with insurance companies and internal staff, in presenting the prospective accounts to underwriters.
  • Assist in inputting account data into the agency information system.
  • Arrange payment terms, collect applications and collect down payments if necessary.
  • Meet with companies and underwriters on a periodic basis to maintain relationships.
  • Represent agency at certain civic and community functions.
  • Enroll in continuing education to keep abreast of industry, company, agency, and computer updates.
  • Participate in sales meetings and achieve sales goals.
  • Network with realtors and other centers of influence to ensure a flow of prospects into sales funnel.
  • Any other duties necessary to execute service for the effective operation of the agency.
  • Maintain MA Property & Casualty Insurance Broker’s License
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in Insurance sales
  • Solid understanding of insurance work methods and procedures
  • High ethical standard
  • Strong interpersonal/sales skills
  • Ability to effectively present information to clients, company representatives, and agency personnel, both verbal and written
