The State Program Specialist is responsible to assist Public Housing Management in the task of recertification and income changes for the State Developments for all property activities related to compliance with the lease at an assigned development(s).

Essential Job Duties:

- Recertification of State low income elderly/disabled and family tenants per regulations and guidelines.

- Performs all clerical tasks associated with verification of income and household composition.

- Conducts annual re-certification conference with head of households.

- Assist tenants that come in for income adjustments or changes in household composition.

- Provides social service referrals for households in crisis.

- Updates tenant files.

- Types memorandum and correspondence.

- Sends Recertification notices.

- Assist with processing applications as needed.

- Assist with screening potential applicants as needed.

- Any other clerical/request that my be added to expand position.

The State Program Specialist is partially evaluated on the timely completion of all annual recertifications, and ability to work independently, and accurately.  The ability of the State Program Specialist to effectively work with residents and community agencies is also a consideration in this employee's performance.

- Ability to obtain proper Public Housing trainings and certifications.

- Knowledge of HUD & EOHLC regulations related to occupancy managment.

- Basic knowledge of physical systems sufficient to coordinate maintenance priorities.

- Excellent knowledge of microsoft office, accurate with accounting, and filing systems.

- Good communication and strong customer service skills.

- Bi-lingual in spanish and english, preferred but not mandatory.
