Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience working with students in a public secondary school setting, particularly those with behavioral challenges.
- Knowledge of behavioral intervention strategies and best practices.
- Experience with PBIS systems within a public secondary school setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Completion of restraint training or restraint certification, or ability to complete such training or certification, to be update/maintained annually.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Calm, non-reactive demeanor
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions regarding student interventions.
- Commitment to promoting a positive school culture and supporting diverse learners.
Work Environment: This position may involve working in various settings within the school, including classrooms, hallways, and offices. The Behavior Intervention Specialist will collaborate closely with teaching staff, administrators, and support personnel.
