Department of Public Works—Generalist

The Hinsdale Department of Public Works (DPW) seeks a team-oriented individual for this full-time, benefits-eligible position. The ideal candidate will participate in all DPW tasks, including road maintenance and repair, snow plowing and sanding, mowing, brushwork, water system maintenance, sewer system maintenance, and minor repairs as necessary. The position requires on-call duties during inclement weather events and other emergencies paid at time and a half if over the 40-hour workweek.

The successful applicant shall have the following:

• A high school diploma or general education degree (GED);
• Two years of work experience in a related field.
• A Massachusetts CDL (or is willing to acquire their CDL within 90 days of hire) ;

Candidates with a CDL with endorsements and/or MA-Hoisting licenses are preferred.

This full-time, hourly, benefit-eligible position starts at $25+ per hour (the range is commensurate with licensure and experience).
