Position Summary: The Building Manager oversees the daily operation of the Church building. This includes inventory and management of supplies, supervising the maintenance and repair of the building, overseeing set up and clean up for events, and working with independent contractors to implement the church’s policies and decisions to ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained building. The position requires strong time management and communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, plan ahead, and implement building-related projects.  This is a hands-on position.

Working Relationships: This position works closely with the Pastor and church staff and with the advice and consent of the Stewardship Ministry Team regarding repairs and maintenance, events and building use needs.

Compensation: The position is part-time up to 25 hours per week with an hourly rate set by the church with the advice and consent of the Stewardship Ministry Team.  The range is $20-$22/hour.

Building Maintenance and Repair: The Building Manager oversees building inspection services by outside contractors, including annual cleaning of the heating system, fire inspection services, in addition to building safety and security systems. The position is responsible for lawn mowing, snow removal, and indoor cleaning. The Building Manager determines whether minor repairs can be completed in-house or brought to the attention of Church Leadership.

Event Set up: The Building Manager sets up and takes down chairs, tables, and partitions for church events throughout the year, and may work outside of normal hours.

Cleaning: The Building Manager is also responsible for regular cleaning of bathrooms, common areas, and the sanctuary.

Schedule: usually Monday through Friday, with some need for weekend time.

Benefits: PTO available and 3% of gross pay will be paid to a pension fund after 1 year of service.

1 year of maintenance experience is required.

Valid driver's license is required.
