Key Responsibilities The EMI / EMC Electrical Engineer will support the design, development and test of various electrical component designs as well as subsystem-level designs at GDMS that are required to support our various customers’ missions. Additional Responsibilities Be an individual contributor within the electrical engineering design team that develops Hardware Configuration Items and Subsystem Level electrical design Exercise creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performance Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customer's changing business needs Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the GDMS culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure GDMS services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices Interface with vendors for product development Interface with other GDMS engineering disciplines Provide direction/support to Manufacturing as required Attend formal design reviews as both a Presenter and Reviewer Occasional required travel to Field Sites, Installation Sites, and Vendors Willing to occasionally work in various indoor/outdoor environments during installations, possibly during off-shifts Basic Qualifications Candidates must have experience specifying, designing and testing EMI/EMC capabilities for electrical components and subsystems. Qualifications (Preferred) It is preferred those candidates for this position possess the following qualifications: Knowledge of MIL-STD-461 Familiarity with TILE! Software Suite Familiarity with test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, EMI receivers, etc. Ability to develop/decompose customer-level EMI/EMC requirements Familiarity with IBM Rational DOORS Able to work in teams Able to work multiple programs concurrently (multi-tasking) Strong Communications Skills What sets you apart: Ability to stay ahead of technology trends Creative thinking with the ability to multi-task Solid communication skills to interact effectively with work groups, project lead | |
Requirements: | |
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. |
