Williams College seeks an Assistant Vice President / Director of Operations (AVP) to join the Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (OIDEI / the Office). OIDEI works to ensure the campus is an inclusive space in which all students, faculty and staff are welcome and able to thrive by eliminating harmful bias and discrimination, closing opportunity gaps, and advancing critical conversations and initiatives that promote inclusion and equity on campus and beyond. As a member of the OIDEI's leadership team, the AVP will possess a deep knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion matters and routinely represent the Office in meetings. As a part of their role, the AVP will serve as a connector between the various functions and individuals in the Office. Upon gaining an understanding of all unit operations and programs the AVP will be poised to engage in strategy development, assess impact of programs, oversee communications, and facilitate the integration of OIDEI's work which stands to positively impact the community. In addition, the AVP will facilitate budget development and oversight and map resources to existing programmatic needs and future endeavors.

The new AVP will join a highly skilled, collaborative, and experienced team that provides key leadership for the College's efforts to build and support an inclusive community. In addition to having excellent organizational and communication skills, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to:
- Manage projects from inception to completion.
- Utilize data and information to assess constituents' needs on campus and develop and refine programs, initiatives, and promising models for inclusion.
- Develop communications plans for internal and external constituents, including overseeing content development and placement.
- Collaborate with campus partners on strategic planning, policy creation, and various efforts to build a community rich in cultural understanding.
- Collaborate on the design and delivery of educational workshops.
- Provide leadership to the executive administrator(s) and program coordinator(s).
- Supervise post-graduate and student fellows.
- Manage the Office's budget.
- Cultivate and nurture strong and trusting relationships across identities and positionalities.
- Serve as a liaison between the Office and the campus community..
This position is a full-time, year-round appointment. On occasion, evening and weekend hours may be required. A bachelor's degree is required (advanced degree is preferred), with a minimum of five years of relevant experience. Flexible working arrangements consistent with College policy may be possible; however, the expectation is that the individual hired will carry out much of their work in-person. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications; and range from $110,000-$130,000.
