This training program will begin January 7th, 2025.
Salary: $19.00 - $21.50 / hour
First 6 months - $19/hr
Second 6 months - $20/hr following completion of coursework
Upon MA Certification - $21.50/hr
Grant Overview: This is a grant-funded position, and the scheduling includes lab, clinical site rotations and coursework. Work hours are 8:00am-4:30pm with a 30-minute lunch break. The Medical Assistant Trainee will be apart of a cohort of students and will be provided with supplies and materials for coursework. Additionally, the cost of the coursework will be paid for by the grant. The Trainee must be employed with CHP for two years post course work, for a total of two years and six months. In the event the Medical Assistant Trainee departs CHP prior to the above required commitment the candidate will be held responsible for all expenses associated with the training program such as salary, coursework, materials, and supplies.
Summary: The Medical Assistant Trainee is part of a CHP sanctioned learning program to become a Certified Medical Assistant. Under the direction of the CMA Preceptor, a trainee meets all the obligations of the learning program within a specified training period, including attendance, timely on-line learning, as well as in-office training. Training includes developing the skills necessary to collaborate with and assist patients, medical assistants, physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and licensed practical nurses in executing CHP’s mission and vision. The desired candidate has a pleasant and welcoming personality and is willing to travel to CHP’s various locations in Berkshire County, if needed. The Medical Assistant Training contributes to a work environment that is caring, collaborative, and innovative. This person will support CHP’s mission, vision, and values and will adhere to compliance protocols as well as CHP’s policies and procedures.
