QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent, bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, economics, urban planning or public administration is preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in community development, planning, or public policy and administration with direct involvement in the administration of community and/or economic development projects
- A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated program or project administration experience
- Knowledge of practices and procedures in administration of publicly funded projects
- Exemplary interpersonal skills; ability to communicate well orally and in writing
- Proficient skill in the use of computers and technology, including software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality, as incumbent is exposed to sensitive information such as credit reports, financial statements, profit and loss statements, personal and business taxes, etc.

This is an office-based job in a dynamic municipal building. While performing the duties of the Community Development Specialist, the incumbent is required to: interact and communicate frequently with the public, government officials, other staff members and boards, and/or third parties transacting business with the City. Work may occasionally take place off-site to attend meetings and/or visit project locations.

Operates standard office equipment including computers and keyboards, at efficient speed; and move throughout the municipal building which may include flights of stairs. Lifts/moves objects weighing up to 10-20 pounds.
HOURS
Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week, 8:30am – 4:00pm
SALARY RANGE
Starting rate $27.03 - $28.54 per hour
Annual increases up to $37.43 per hour
