Description: | Position is based in Pittsfield, but county-wide travel may be necessary. Weekdays, full-time! No Nights, weekends or holidays!
General Description Under general supervision, performs a variety of tasks in the maintenance, renovation and repair of Brien Center facilities; demonstrates a full understanding of all applicable policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties. Qualifications - High School diploma or equivalency required; Vocational degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
- Trade License, such as Massachusetts Construction Supervisor, Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC or other equivalent trade license preferred; This will enable the organization to pull municipal work permits and to perform necessary repairs and maintenance internally.
- Combination of education and/or experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform facilities maintenance tasks.
- Valid Class D drivers license & use of personal vehicle.
- Knowledge of techniques and materials used in maintenance and repair of facilities; safe operation of vehicles and other equipment; occupational hazards and standard safety procedures; inventory control; report preparation; general ADA standards.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to perform building maintenance, repair infrastructure of facilities, office furniture and lighting fixtures, operate a variety of tools and equipment used in facility maintenance, building and construction, operate hand and power tools competently and safely, perform moderately heavy manual labor, observe safety principles and work in a safe manner, follow written and oral instructions, communicate clearly and concisely, establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to safely and effectively operate a variety of maintenance equipment, tools and materials; to know the limit of his/her current abilities, and to seek help or guidance to complete a task.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Effective problem solving and analytical skills.
- Able to pass a CORI (Criminal background check) and DMV (Driver’s license check) background check.
