Letters of application are being accepted for the position of long-term substitute. All applicants should have prior experience working with high-school aged students. Prior teaching experience is preferred. Applicants must be flexible and able to respond to a changing educational environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of instructional practices and individual learning styles.
• Knowledge of formal and informal student assessment techniques.
• Ability to adapt and respond to a varied schedule on short notice.
• Knowledge of the Massachusetts curriculum frameworks.
• Knowledge of skills and techniques for successfully working with students on Individual Education Plans (IEPs), 504 Accommodation Plans and making related accommodations.
• Must possess a valid State driver’s license.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver lessons according to teacher provided plans.
• Supervise and manage students in the classroom.
• Ensure tasks assigned by instructors are completed by the students.
• Provide dependable, responsible, coverage as assigned daily by administration.
• Utilize standards-based teaching and assessment methods as directed by instructors.
• Create a safe classroom environment conducive to student learning.
• Ability to transport students in school vehicle(s).
• Assume the obligations ordinarily associated with the teaching profession.
