Description:

Location: Fully Remote

Schedule: 32hrs/week; Tuesday-Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

The Remote Behavioral Health Coordinator (BHC) is the front line of communication between the client, therapist, and the Behavioral Health Department. Has the same responsibilities whether on the phone or in person. Schedules patient appointments, answers questions or provides general information or directs a client to appropriate staff or department who can provide more direct and specific information. Maintains and updates patients’ chart by getting the appropriate information from the client and therapist. The BHC protects clients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information. The BHC will support CHP’s mission, vision, and values and will adhere to compliance protocols as well as CHP’s policies and procedures.

Requirements:

Remote Behavioral Health Coordinator Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Closely manages therapists’ schedules. Views client charts the day before.

  • Receives all incoming inquiries, screens them, takes messages and/or forwards them to appropriate staff.

  • Checks client insurance eligibility referring to organization’s procedures.

  • Completes initial phone intake scheduling process with all new clients.

  • Schedules and coordinates initial and/or follow up appointments as needed for all therapists.

  • Types other correspondence as requested.

  • Responsible for all incoming and outgoing faxes for the department.

  • Uploads documents to patients’ chart.

  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes to Behavioral Health Manager.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Skilled in computer software, such as excel spreadsheets, word processing, and other programs, including experience on Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) software, relevant to BH as necessary to perform the required tasks.

  • Documented success in collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives and cultivate an inclusive, team-focused environment.

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.

  • Professional proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.

  • Fluent in the use of Microsoft Office with experience working with EHR systems preferred.

  • Ideal candidate will have some experience working in a healthcare or mental health environment as a receptionist or intake personnel.

  • Required knowledge of general office machines, telephone systems, laptop, and other information systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, shifting focus seamlessly between competing priorities and frequent interruptions while maintaining composure and attention to detail.

  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of discretion when dealing with confidential information.

  • Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain a quiet, secure home office space.
