Our North County client is seeking an organized and personable temporary Onboarding and Employee Relations Specialist to join their Human Resources team. This role is responsible for managing the recruitment and onboarding process from job posting through new hire orientation while supporting employee relations, compliance, and HR operations. There is potential for this to become a temp to hire. The pay is based on experience and will be in the $25-$27/HR range. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, coordinating multiple priorities, and helping create a positive employee experience. Responsibilities - Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from job posting through onboarding.
- Post and track job openings across multiple recruiting platforms.
- Screen applicants, coordinate interviews, conduct reference checks, and prepare job offers.
- Complete pre-employment screenings including CORI, SORI, fingerprinting, driving records, credential verification, and other required background checks.
- Coordinate new hire onboarding and maintain accurate employee records.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and ensure timely hiring.
- Represent the organization at job fairs, community events, colleges, and career centers.
- Track recruiting metrics, advertising budgets, and hiring activity.
- Assist with HR administrative functions including personnel actions, employee communications, unemployment responses, audits, and reporting.
- Serve as a cross-trained member of the HR team and provide backup support as needed.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree with at least one year of administrative experience, preferably in Human Resources; or High School diploma/GED with six years of related experience.
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Experience with recruiting, onboarding, or HR systems is preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to successfully complete all required background checks and pre-employment screenings.
