Description:

Part Time | Flexible Hours – 12-18 hours a week.

Position Summary

The Part Time Property Overseer/Manager is responsible for the day to day oversight, maintenance coordination, and general care of MCLA Foundation, Inc.  properties. This role ensures the property is well maintained, secure, compliant with applicable regulations, and operating efficiently. The position requires a high level of responsibility, reliability, and attention to detail, with a hands on approach and availability to respond to issues as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

General Property Oversight Perform regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors, service providers, and vendors.
  • Coordinate routine maintenance, repairs, and seasonal upkeep with MCLA .
  • Monitor to ensure grounds, buildings, and shared areas are kept clean, safe, and presentable.
  • Monitor equipment and systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security, etc.) and report issues promptly.  Make arrangements for repairs or replacement.

MCLA Support

  • Act as a liaison between MCLA Facilities and the Foundation.
  • Ensure MCLA staff are maintaining properties as outlined in lease agreements.
  • Oversee infrastructure projects and coordinate with MCLA as necessary.
  • Enforce property rules and standards consistently and professionally.

Administrative & Reporting Duties

  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, service schedules, and vendor contacts.
  • Work with the Foundation Controller to track expenses related to property operations and report to the Foundation President/Leadership.
  • Provide regular status updates and recommendations regarding property conditions.
  • Assist with budgeting for repairs and property improvements.

Security & Emergency Response

  • Work with MCLA Public Safety to monitor property security and access as required.
  • Respond to urgent maintenance issues or emergencies when necessary.
  • Coordinate emergency repairs and communicate incidents to College and Foundation leadership.

Compensation

  • Hourly or stipend based compensation, commensurate with experience.
  • Possible reimbursement for mileage or approved property related expenses.

Reporting Relationship

Reports directly to the President of the MCLA Foundation, Inc.

Requirements:

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in property management, facilities management, or maintenance preferred.
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic knowledge of building systems and general repairs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to visit the property as needed.
  • Comfortable using basic technology (email, phone, digital records).

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to perform light physical tasks such as walking the property, lifting small tools, or supervising repairs.
  • Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends if issues arise.
  • On call availability for urgent matters as agreed.
