PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Accountability: Duties include responsibility for technical processes, service delivery, and contribution to municipal-wide financial plans and objectives and fiscal responsibility for the department. Consequences of errors, missed deadlines or poor judgment could severely jeopardize department operations or have extensive financial and/or legal repercussions to the municipality. Judgment: Work requires the employee to examine, analyze, and evaluate facts and circumstances surrounding individual problems, situations or transactions, and determining actions to be taken within the limits of standard or accepted practices. Guidelines include a large body of policies, practices, and precedents which may be conflicting, at times. Independent judgment is used to analyze or evaluate specific situations to determine appropriate actions. Complexity: Work consists of the practical application of a variety of concepts, practices, and specialized techniques relating to a professional or technical field. Assignments typically involve evaluation and interpretation of factors, conditions or unusual circumstances; inspecting, testing or evaluating compliance with established standards or criteria; gathering, analyzing and evaluating facts or data using specialized fact finding techniques; or determining the methods to accomplish the work. Confidentiality: The employee has regular access at the departmental level to a wide variety of confidential information in accordance with the State Public Records Law including official employee personnel files and department records. RECOMMENDED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Associates’ degree or equivalent experience.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is an hourly NON BENIFITED position with 18 hours per week. Averaging 9 hours per week in each department (clerk and collector). Additional hours may be needed occasionally to cover clerk/collector time off. All hours are in person. Actual hours can be flexible with in the normal town hall schedule (Monday – Friday). Must work a minimum of 4 days per week. |
