In 1916 Arthur C. Johnson Sr. opened his 1st new car and truck dealership. In 1964, the second generation, Arthur C. Johnson Jr. purchased the Lincoln Mercury franchise on North Street in Pittsfield, MA. By 1980 the Ford franchise was added and in 1982 moved to our current location on East Street in Pittsfield.

Today the dealership is owned by the third and fourth generations of Johnson's. Gary and his two children Tary and Chris now employ 50 people and are very active in the local community. Part of The Johnson Dealerships community support was being a proud sponsor of The Berkshire United Way's Driving The Community Forward campaign for 20years with Greylock Federal Credit Union.

Description:

Job Summary:

The Lot Attendant is responsible for maintaining the dealership lot and vehicle inventory, service area & customer vehicles in a clean, orderly, and professional manner. This position supports both the sales and service departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Park and arrange vehicle inventory on the lot according to dealership standards
  • Inspect vehicles for damage and report any issues to management
  • Wash, vacuum, and detail vehicles as needed
  • Assist Shuttle drivers with transportation of customers or customer vehicles, includes using a smart phone with an app to record photos, etc
  • Snow Plowing including snow blowing sidewalk 
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the lot and service area, including snow removal and trash pickup, removal of weeds when necessary
  • Sweep service shop
  • Put up displays and flags
  • Support team with other tasks
  • Assist with small building maintenance tasks

    Requirements:

    Qualifications:

    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
    • Ability to safely operate vehicles with both manual and automatic transmissions
    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
    • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
    • Good attention to detail and strong organizational skills
    • Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions

    Working Conditions:

    • Primarily outdoor work with exposure to weather
    • Standing, walking, and driving for extended periods
    • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs
